Deborah Women is a faith-based, all-women, nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing hope, healing, and courage to women and children affected by domestic violence and crisis. Our mission is to break the cycle of abuse through education, advocacy, resources, and compassionate support. We are a community of women standing together for women — empowering survivors to rise above trauma, reclaim their strength, and walk in purpose. We believe that every woman and child deserves to live free from fear, embraced by love, and supported through faith-based action.

Our History

Deborah Women was established in 2017 at Kemper Road Christian Church in Cincinnati, Ohio, by Rev. Dr. CJ Koen under the guidance and encouragement of Pastor Thomas Barnes. What began as a small group of faithful women with a shared passion to help others soon became a powerful movement of healing and empowerment.
From the beginning, our mission has been to help women and children affected by domestic violence, provide education and awareness training, and offer support for unwed teenage mothers through essential supplies such as diapers, clothing, bottles, and food for infants and children under twelve.
Over the years, Deborah Women has grown beyond its local roots — expanding into multiple states while remaining deeply committed to its founding mission. Today, Deborah Women partners with First Christian Church in Middletown, Ohio, where we provide resources, trauma recovery support, and advocacy for women in crisis.

Our Mission in Action
At Deborah Women, we believe that change begins with awareness and compassion in action. Our outreach includes:
  • Education and Awareness Training – Conducted 2–4 times a year, both in-person and via Zoom, to help communities and churches understand and prevent domestic violence.

  • Advocacy and Support – Helping victims connect to legal aid, shelters, and safety planning resources.
  • Practical Assistance – Supplying clothing, food, and emergency essentials for women and children
  • Spiritual and Emotional Healing – Offering prayer, counseling, and encouragement through the power of faith.
Most of our training sessions are free and open to anyone who desires to be part of this movement to stop domestic violence.

Our Vision
We envision a world where every woman and child can live safe, valued, and free — where communities of faith rise together to protect, educate, and heal. Through God’s love, broken lives can be restored, and every survivor can find her voice again.

Every story matters. Every life is precious. Together, we are not only changing lives — we are transforming generations.
